A promotional item does its job while it is used. If it ends up in a drawer, the investment is gone. So the question is not “what do we give away” but “what will this person use every week.”
What gets used most
- Tumblers and bottles: used daily and travel with the person.
- Backpacks: seen on the street, at the office and on public transport.
- Caps: with Panama’s sun, worn outdoors and at events.
- Power banks: useful and pulled out in meetings, where others see them.
- Umbrellas: essential in the rainy season.
Two audiences, two goals
For current customers, choose a higher-quality item: it thanks them for the relationship and keeps them close. To win new ones, choose something useful and affordable you can hand out in volume at fairs and activations, such as a keychain or a pen.
The design
A discreet logo and good design make people want to use the item outside work. The more it is used, the more new people see your brand.
How to measure it
A few months later, ask customers whether they still use the item. At fairs, record how many new contacts took one and how many wrote to you afterwards.
